Why most truth-seekers never find Islam
The book shops that create Islam-hate
Review a book, save a life…
The short version – if you do the world a favour by reviewing my book on Amazon today, I’ll gift you a £497 ticket to my upcoming live event: Inside the Soul of Islam: Live.
Here’s why I’m doing this and why it’s so important to take a couple of minutes out of your day to support “Inside the Soul of Islam” and other Islamic books written for a mainstream audience:
Right now, if you go to any major book store in the UK, USA or Canada, or anywhere in the English-speaking world, and go to the ‘religion’ section, then look for books on Islam, here’s what you’ll probably find… (I did this recently, and this is exactly what I found)…
- 2-3 shelves on Buddhism
- 1-2 shelves on Christianity
- 1 shelf on Judaism
- One shelf shared between ‘Islam’ and ‘Wicca’ (yeah, wicca, as in… pagan witch-craft and stuff…?)
On the ‘Islam and Wicca’ shelf, there were WAY more books on ‘wicca’. In fact, the only books on Islam were:
- A Quran translation (thank God!)
- A book on the Prophet’s life, peace be upon him, written by a respectable Christian author
- And, fortunately, because it had just come out: Inside the Soul of Islam… (although it’s mostly only available on Amazon now).
- …And that’s it!
Do you know what that means…?
Even if someone is a real spiritual seeker and wants the truth about Islam… and is willing to go out of their way to a book shop to find the truth about this beautiful religion… they won’t find anything!
Sure, maybe some people who are extremely intelligent will decipher the English translation of the Quran (despite old-English, Arabic metaphors that aren’t explained in a translation, and of course, a complete lack of context).
However, most people will just go the shop assistant, who will probably direct them to other books ‘about’ Islam… found in the politics or world affairs section. As you know, most of these books are written by ideologues and people with generally anti-Muslim political agendas.
Think about it… people who aren’t Muslim and go in search of books about Islam are wise enough to know that there must be more to Islam than the media headlines and sound-bites… but as a community we’re really not helping them out in that search. Forget changing the media narrative – we aren’t even helping the serious seekers of truth to find it in actual book shops.
But, before you shed a tear for the woes of the world, there is something you can do.
Something small, but that can have a huge impact, over a relatively short period of time.
Most people today, including you & me, buy books from the world’s biggest Virtual Bookshop: Amazon.
And, Amazon has certain rules to make sure people find relevant books.
Their number 1 rule is:
The more 5 star reviews a book gets, the more people will find it.
In fact, it apparently only takes a thousand 5* reviews for a book to be a permanent best-seller… which means it’s the first to come up any time someone searches for ‘Islam’. (Fortunately, the vast majority of readers give Inside the Soul of Islam 5 stars – Thank You!!)
However… right now there are only a couple dozen reviews of the book. Which means, Joe Bloggs who lives down the street is much more likely to find books about Islam written by some Fox News pundit, or Islam-hater, than they are to find the true, beautiful, inspiring teachings that we all believe in.
So, that’s why, if you go to Amazon right now, review the book honestly, then register on the link below, I’ll gift you an event ticket worth £497 (live in London or globally via livestream), totally free:
