About Me
My Life Story. (The Short Version).
I was born & raised in Manchester, England to Pakistani parents. I went to the best schools, got excellent grades, and went to medical school, just as I was expected to.
And then⌠the penny dropped. I realised that the life the world had planned for me was not what I wanted at all. I saw a late-night Tony Robbins infomercial about how you can change all areas of your life - and took him up on it. Within a few weeks, I had hired my first personal development coach and made some empowering decisions that changed the trajectory of my life.
I quit medical school, travelled to Egypt as part of an undergraduate degree in Arabic, got married, went to live in Barcelona, eventually got trained to become a professional life-coach myself, developed a unique niche called, âQuran Coachingâ where I helped people achieve their spiritual Quran goals, and started to live my best lifeâŚ
âŚUntil it all came tumbling down.
In 2011 I separated and got divorced and started going through some kind of existential crisis and experienced a lot of âdark thinkingâ that nothing I had learnt over the past decade really prepared me to deal with.
As the great spiritual master & poet Rumi said, âIf the heart doesnât break open, how will the light enter?â For me, that light entered in the form of an insightful realisation into the truth of how the mind works.
That understanding is what we now call, âThe Psychological Switchâ. It saved my life and has transformed the lives of thousands of my clients and students. And this website is my way of sharing it.
And then, I met you. So, what is your lifestory?
His Personal Life
Mamoon is married to Rachida, the love of his life, a brilliant Dutch-Moroccan speechwriter and communication strategist. They recently became parents to twin boys (and survived to tell the tale!).
Mamoon loves JiuJitsu, Plant-Based burgers, the cinema (no matter whatâs playing), and listening to the twins interact in secret twin-language. He can often be found consuming ridiculous amounts of flavoured coffee, alone, while reading or listening to something life-changing. But he can only do one thing at a time. He sometimes spills coffee on his books.
Right now, Mamoon enjoys channelling all his creative energy as a coach and teacher into the podcast: âIn The Moment with Mamoonâ. If you want more from him, thatâs the best place to get started.
His Professional Life
