A couple of years ago, I taught a live event called, “Meet and Marry the One”, and as a framework for the event, I realized that there are a handful of powerfully transformative qualities that – if we embody them – we actually BECOME ‘the One’ that everyone is looking for.
And it turns out the “becoming” the One, is actually the secret to attracting the one.
Those qualities are:
- Detachment from the outcome.
This is only possible when on a deep level, you know that ultimately Allah is the only One who is in charge of how soon, and whether or not, you do ultimately meet and marry the one. And being totally okay with whatever Allah wills.
- Resilience.
Oh boy – you’re going to need a lot of this stuff.
It’s what keeps you going, through all the ups and downs, the heartbreaks, the rejections, the ghosting, and all the rest of it.
An abundance of resilience, or “sabr”, is definitely an essential aid on the journey.
- Confidence.
The most attractive internal quality in any man or any woman is undoubtedly, confidence.
It’s the thing that shows people that you’re open-hearted, and ready to connect.
For a man, this is especially important.
Most people know that confidence is important for men, but the truth is, a woman who is insecure and needy will attract a certain type of guy, but probably not the kind of guy that you want.
- Loving Leadership.
This is where a man steps into his masculine energy and a woman steps into her feminine energy. The man steps up to lead the beginning phases of a relationship, and the woman allows herself to be led.
- Attraction.
Really deeply understanding how attraction works can save you a ton of time, effort, energy, and confusion along the journey. There’s an underlying principle about this that is a total game-changer when it comes to understanding male-female dynamics and explains why we sometimes fall for the exact WRONG type of person… and what to do about it.
And finally, and most importantly, the quality that brings out all of the other qualities in you is:
- Presence.
Presence is the center of the spiritual path of all religious traditions, especially Islam.
It’s what allows you to pray with your full heart. It’s what brings all of the good things in life to you and keeps us out of the ego-traps that sabotage our happiness, inner-peace and contentment.
Now, I really do wish that these six qualities made up a better acronym than “DR. CLAP”.
I really do.
But it’s the best I’ve got.
