One of my friends, who is an academic with a deep understanding of, and love for, Islam, once described the Quran as God’s ‘break up call’ with humanity.
He said, it’s as though Allah is saying:
“Okay Humanity, I love you.
“And this is it. This is the last message you’re going to receive from me. It tells you everything you need, in explicit clarity. After this, just know I love you, and will always be there for you. I want you to step up and realise the immensity of your spiritual nature, and stop pretending to just be an animal.
“But after this, no more. No more messages. No more prophets. No more messengers you can blame when you don’t understand My message.
“From now on, I won’t speak to you, until you step up to your spiritual potential and tap into the vast light I placed within your heart… or at least until you reach the other side.”
What a heavy message to receive!
