Assalam Alaikum,
Sometimes it seems like parent are experts in making our lives unnecessarily difficult for us.
It can feel like you’re being made to live a double-life just to avoid WW3 in your own home.
It can be really frustrating, almost like you’re having to parent them.
The Quran gives us a high standard to aspire to when it comes to dealing with parents:
“And your Lord has commanded that you shall not serve (any) but Allah, and good treatment towards your parents.
If either or both of them reach old age with you, do not even say “Uff” to them, nor criticise them, but address them in terms of honour.”
–[Quran 17:23]
If you feel like saying a whole lot more than ‘uff’ to your parents, I highly recommend you go through this online training about relationships:
It focuses on marriage, but trust me, the principles shared are universal and will help tremendously with your parents, siblings & even your in-laws, insha’Allah 😉
Enjoy!
Peace, Love & Blessings.
