If you’re single, have your parents ever invited “rista’s”, or very convenient-for-them potential future-spouses around…?
If not, you’re missing out! (On a real-life disaster unfolding in your living room).
Don’t get me wrong… I see nothing wrong at all with your parents trying to set you up. It’s a sweet thought. And, every now and then, they introduce you to the perfect match (who knew, eh?)
However, for me and many of my generation it doesn’t work a lot of the time. For many reasons:
- Your parents don’t really ‘get’ you, what you’re like and who you’re into
- You might not have a particularly open relationship with your parents where you can talk free about who you do and don’t like
- There’s instant added pressure to any interaction when parents are involved from the beginning.
- It’s very hard to know if you’re attracted to someone while both your parents are looking at you… and them… and you…
- Ever listened in on one of these conversations between parents, about the weather… and how good their child is… and the weather… and awkward silence… and he’s a doctor… and the weather… ya rabb when will this end… and Brexit… oh my Lord, why do they even have a problem with immigrants when they’re… and the weather (thank God)… and where’s the tea…?
- In-laws (or out-laws?) become a problem before you’ve even built a strong connection with your potential future-husband
- And, honestly, the more I think about it… the bigger this list could get.
But, what if meeting a Rishta didn’t have to be like watching a train-crash in slow motion through your living room?
Or, better still, what if you didn’t have to depend on your parents to find someone, but could instead take the weight off their shoulders by introducing them to your perfect match?
How is that possible? Well, secrets 1 & 2 of this Masterclass will definitely help:
