Inspire the world…

by Mamoon Yusaf

I’ve always liked the idea that if all believing Muslims were to actually live by the teachings of the Quran & Sunnah, we would be a beautiful role-models that the world could look up to.

Take fasting, for example.

If we did it the right way, Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity (some of the world’s worst health problems) would be all but eliminated across the entire Muslim world.

Doctors would have figured out the immense benefits of fasting decades – maybe even centuries – ago, because it would be really obvious that people who fast as part of their religion don’t have these medical problems that the rest of the world is plagued with. In an age that all but worships science, and the physical body, we would be living examples of the fact that the Quran was revealed to enhance our bodies, our lives and our understanding of how the world works.

Everyone from Hollywood celebrities, to athletes and influencers would look up to us as the people who have the treasure-trove of answers that the whole world is looking for.

However, the Muslim world doesn’t quite make the cut. We’re so focused on doing the bare minimum (fard) religious obligations, that we don’t realise that within the Prophetic example ( Sunnah) is the cure to a lot of humanities’ problems.

By doing only the obligatory fasting, we gain some spiritual benefit, but almost no physical benefit. By following the Prophet’s (s) example and exerting self-control over what we eat after the fast, we gain almost miraculous physical benefits.

The answer?

You may not be able to change the world… but you can change your world, over the next 2 weeks of Ramadan.

One student who joined The Ramadan Challenge has already lost 4kg and another has lost over 10kg since the start of Ramadan! You can expect between 5-10kg of weight loss by following our plan for 1 month, and still drop a couple of inches off the waist by Eid, if you get started this weekend.

The most common response I’m getting from the students who are doing it is:

“This is SOOO much easier than I thought it would be!”

If you want to fast in a way that’s easy, graceful and can lead to a phenomenal physical (and hopefully spiritual!) changes before the end of Ramadan, today is the LAST DAY to join The Ramadan Challenge.
