“The Spiritual Muslim is like the earth. All filth and dirt can be cast upon it, but only beauty grows from it.”
This beautiful statement was made by Imam Junaid and is one of the foundations of the spiritual path. It’s a clear description of what the aim ought to be for anybody who takes the spiritual teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him, seriously.
Imagine that.
Imagine being in such a divinely guided state that people can hurl all kinds of insults and filth and poison at you, but they don’t get anything back from you, except beauty, kindness and benevolence.
Is that even possible for a regular person?
The truth is that as long as any of us are lost in the Psychological Illusion, that the way we feel is determined by the events that occur around us, then the answer is simply: No.
As long as you are in the illusion that the words that another person speaks or that person’s behaviour has the power to determine your thinking and feeling, you are absolutely trapped in the illusion. When that happens, it seems to you that the only response possible is a negative reaction that comes out of the negativity that you feel.
However, there is another path.
There is the path that is grounded in the spiritual reality that feeling, moment by moment is constantly coming from your own state of mind and your own level of consciousness.
If you want to respond to life’s events in the optimal way, so that no matter what filthy words or behaviours people fling at you, you always have the ability to respond with beauty, benevolence and kindness, then I highly recommend you flip “The Spiritual Switch”.
If you want to know exactly how to do that, it’s all covered in depth in my new coaching program which is launching soon.
