Fake It Till You Break It

There is an insidious myth in the personal development world, that if you’re not confident, you should just ‘fake it till you make it’.

I get the theory.

The hope is that you’ll put on a brave face, try to do the thing you’re insecure about and when you get into it, you’ll realise it’s not such a big deal.

And, sometimes it works.

But… sometimes it doesn’t. << This ALWAYS works

I once had a client who was very insecure about getting more clients for her consulting business. I told her everything she needed to do externally, but it just wasn’t working for her.

She had been trying to say all the right things & ‘fake’ her confidence & self-belief.

The more I told her what to do & the more scripts & client-attracting formulas I gave her, the more insecure she became… and the more she repelled the clients she wanted to attract.

In one powerful coaching session, I called her out on this and she agreed to do some deep inner-work. During that session, she realised these spiritual truths:

  • All insecurity is just an illusion created by Thought.
  • The moment you can see through that illusion, the insecurity disappears.
  • You don’t need to fake it till you make it – you just need to realise you’ve always had it.
  • Confidence is your natural state.

If you want to return to the confidence that’s already inside of you & that you were born with, join us at The Paradigm Shift:

Peace, Love & Blessings.

P.S. As you might have guessed, she’s been attracting clients effortlessly ever since that session. This is what it means to create change from the inside-out.
