Assalam Alaikum,
When the Prophet Moses, peace & blessings be upon him, was commanded by Allah to deal with the Pharaoh, he was told:
“And speak to him with gentle words, so that perhaps he may be reminded…”
[Quran 20:44]
Think about that for a second.
This Pharaoh was the worst tyrant the world had seen, and Moses, peace & blessings be upon him, was a chosen prophet and messenger of God. And yet, the Prophet Moses wasn’t told to fight him or argue with him, but to speak gentle words of truth to him.
Truth, even when spoken softly, to someone with more power than you, is considered the highest form of courage in the Islamic tradition.
You aren’t more righteous than Moses, and the family member you’re having issues with isn’t more evil than the Pharaoh.
So, if you’re struggling to not fight with them even over little things, I recommend you go through this free web-class, before you have to deal with the big things in life:
